In 1957, our founder pioneered the production of papain, a vegetable enzyme derived from papaya. Specialty Enzymes has carried forth the tradition of that entrepreneurial spirit since 1985. Our extensive biotech experience has led to the development of 160 unique enzyme solutions addressing the needs of customers in 25 industries and over 30 countries.

Last January, the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA) awarded the company the NNFA Good Manufacturing Practices Certification. The largest dietary supplement trade association in the United States, NNFA has implemented the GMP program as a means to strengthen the credibility of the industry. NNFA awarded Specialty Enzymes an “A” compliance rating, the highest achievable award under NNFA’s GMP program.
