American Health Ester-C—The Better Vitamin C™
As a non-acidic, patented form of vitamin C, Ester-C functions biologically like other forms of vitamin C—and can provide benefits for skin, joint and vision health, cardiovascular support, antioxidant protection and immune system wellness. In addition, Ester-C has shown to be beneficial in other ways:
• 24-Hour Advanced Immune Protection
A recent clinical study showed that Ester-C increased vitamin C levels in the body for up to 24 hours.1
• Non-Acidic, Gentler on the Stomach
Ester-C is non-acidic, making it gentle on the digestive system, so even sensitive individuals can take advantage of the powerful, extended immune support.
• Naturally Occurring Metabolites For Quick Absorption
Ester-C is said to contain naturally occurring vitamin C metabolites for quick absorption and maximum retention. The vitamin C metabolites in Ester-C activate the vitamin C molecules making it easier for them to be absorbed by the body.
The Science Behind Ester-C
In a recently published study, individuals sensitive to acidic foods were given 1 gram of vitamin C as ascorbic acid or as Ester-C. Subjects reported heartburn “significantly more frequent and severe after intake of ascorbic acid” and subjects rated Ester-C as tolerated “very good” significantly more than ascorbic acid.2 For anyone who has difficulty tolerating vitamin C, clinical evidence has shown Ester-C to be non-acidic and gentle on the stomach.
In a 60 day study, 168 healthy participants who took 500 mg of Ester-C twice per day reported feeling healthier as compared to a placebo group. Additionally, the subjects who took Ester-C reported 77 percent fewer seasonal issues as compared to the previous winter.3
